Our Approach
The Raith House Way
A painting waiting for another brushstroke tomorrow. A small hand learning to pour. An educator staying beside a child as they work out what to try next. These moments matter here.
Our days follow a familiar rhythm, with rituals for gathering, sharing food, exploring and resting. Children come to know what happens next, with time within that rhythm to follow an idea and practise something new.
Our educators prepare with care, listen closely and teach thoughtfully. They offer possibilities, guide children through challenges and help everyone care for the home we share.

Each morning begins with a welcome in the heart of the house, before children settle into their familiar home base.
Through these everyday moments, our preschool program builds the skills, confidence and independence children will carry with them to school.
Arrive

Explore
In small groups, children head out to a story in The Parlour, a build in The Workshop or a painting in The Studio.
Gather
Shared meals bring everyone back to the table, and back to each other.
Rest
A quiet pause in the middle of the day, for sleep, a book or simply slowing down.
Return
Afternoons in the garden, and time to come back to the work still in progress.
Our Rooms
Room for every age and stage
Every child starts the day in a familiar home base, with educators who know them well.
Older children explore the house in small groups, while our babies settle into the Nest and the Nook.
Each room offers something different, and a place for every child in the life of our home.
Babies 0-2
The Nook
Soft light and cosy corners invite little ones to reach, crawl and discover, always within sight of a familiar face.
Toddlers 2-3
The Studio
Paint, clay, fabric and time to return to an idea, so children can make something that is theirs alone.
The Hearth
Gathered around the original fireplace, children share news, set a place for a friend and help care for the home they belong to.
The Parlour
A room for songs, stories and conversation, where every word, gesture and idea is listened to.
Preschool 3-5
The Nest
A gentle place for our youngest babies, where feeding, sleep, care and play follow each child’s own rhythm.
The Workshop
Little hands fill, stack, build and try again, with an educator beside them for the moment something finally fits.
About Us
A place like no other
After more than a decade running early learning services, Leonie and Andrew hadn’t planned to open another. Then they saw Raith House, and it was love at first sight.
The heritage home, established gardens and wraparound verandas offered something they wanted to preserve—and possibilities they couldn’t stop imagining.
As its current custodians, they’re restoring the house with care for its history and character, while preparing for its next chapter. Their experience has shaped what they want to bring to life here: relationships children can trust, time for curiosity, and a team who feel cared for themselves.
